Detectives of the ESBU Territorial Department in Kyiv uncovered the illegal production of counterfeit household chemicals of international brands in Ternopil region.

During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that a group of people organised the production and sale of counterfeit household chemicals products of well-known foreign companies. The counterfeit products were sold on an online platform.

As a result of the searches, three plastic bottle production lines, packaging equipment, 2000 litres of liquid with a characteristic smell of alcohol, etc. were identified and seized.

The approximate value of the seized goods and materials is over UAH 20 million.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding on the grounds of a criminal offence stipulated by Part 3, Article 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal use of trademarks for goods and services) is being conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Kyiv in cooperation with the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Ternopil region and under the supervision of prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

The ESBU Territorial Office in Zakarpattia region recently sent to court an indictment in criminal proceedings against members of an organised group who illegally used trademarks of well-known foreign companies.
