Analysts of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in Kyiv region prevented the embezzlement of UAH 52 million of budget funds that officials of a state-owned enterprise were going to spend on cleaning services.

It was established that the state-owned enterprise was holding a tender for the purchase of cleaning services for an infrastructure facility that has not been operating since the beginning of 2022. The amount that the officials were going to spend was almost UAH 52 million.

In order to review the feasibility of the procurement and prevent the waste of budget funds, the ESBU analysts sent a letter of recommendation to the public funds manager.

After considering the ESBU recommendations, the state-owned enterprise decided to cancel the tender. The embezzlement of funds has been prevented.

In the first half of 2023, analysts of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine prevented the embezzlement of state budget funds in the amount of UAH 691.7 million during tender procurement.
