Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in the Lviv region reported the suspicion of three members of an organized group in the illegal use of trademarks of a well-known american brand in the manufacture of falsified household chemical products in the territory of Chernivtsi and Lviv regions.

The investigation established that an organized group of three residents of the Chernivtsi region, during 2021-2022, for the purpose of personal enrichment, sold finished products throughout Ukraine at prices below the average market in bulk and at retail.

As a result of such activity, material damage in the amount of more than UAH 200,000 was caused to the foreign company.

During the searches, counterfeit products, labels, a printer for their production, containers, specially prepared raw materials and other physical evidence were seized.

The court is deciding the issue of applying precautionary measures in the form of bail to the members of the organized group.

Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal use of a mark for goods and services, a company name, a qualified indication of the origin of goods) is carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in the Lviv region under the procedural guidance of the Lviv regional prosecutor's office and operational support of the Cyberpolice of the Lviv region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
