Detectives of the Territorial Administration of the ESBU in the Zakarpattia region informed the citizens of Ukraine about the suspicion of illegal use of trademarks of a well-known Italian coffee producer.

The investigation identified residents of Zakarpattia region who stored fake coffee of a well-known international brand in a rented warehouse.

In the future falsified products were sold on the market in Zakarpattia region and through the Internet under the guise of imported original coffee products.

Thus, a foreign company that registered a trademark in Ukraine and has an international registration suffered material damage in the total amount of almost UAH 3.5 million.

Detectives of the ESBU discovered and stopped the illegal production of products.

Persons have been notified of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Art. 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal use of a mark for goods and services, trade name, qualified indication of the origin of goods).

Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by detectives of TD ESBU in Zakarpattia region together with the cybercrime countermeasures department in Zakarpattia region of the Departament Kiberpolitsiyi Natsionalʹnoyi Politsiyi Ukrayiny under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Zakarpattia Region Prosecutor's Office.
