Over the past three months the ESBU has reimbursed more than UAH 650 million in criminal proceedings. At the same time in 2023, UAH 390 million is planned for the salaries of Bureau employees.

The Director of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine, Vadym Melnyk, told about this in his interview with the "NV" publication. According to him, these criminal proceedings are still being investigated. However, the funds have already entered the State budget.

"This is not yet in our report, which is published by the General Prosecutor's Office, because the proceedings have not been sent to court. We sent this information to the TSK of the Verkhovna Rada. But there are facts and figures that the committee stubbornly does not notice, TIC does not notice, although we have long ago explained how statistics are formed, what are the differences, payment documents about the payment of compensation to the budget showed. But this is ignored," Melnyk notes.

For example, NABU and DBR were launched after 1.5 and 3 years, respectively with full financing and international assistance. The ESBU started to show results already after 3 months.

The Bureau's total contribution to the economy last year was UAH 60 billion. These are not only the funds recovered from criminal proceedings. These include excise goods removed from illegal circulation, illegally exported funds, the value of the assets of the russian federation and the republic of belarus seized by theESBU, as well as prevention of budget embezzlement - due to the cancellation of risky purchases with state funds, prevention of illegal VAT refunds and economic damage.
