Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in the Kyiv and the Kyiv region together with other law enforcement officers seized 135,000 liters of low-quality fuel and equipment for its production from illegal circulation. The estimated value of goods and material values is almost UAH 11 million.

The illegal production and sale of counterfeit fuel was organized by a group of people in the Kyiv region. The investigation established that the company was operating without appropriate permits and licenses. The manufactured counterfeit was sold for cash through its own network of gas stations.

Employees of the ESBU and police officers conducted 11 searches in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. More than 110,000 liters of diesel, 17,000 liters of gasoline, 8,000 liters of gas and fuel production equipment were seized from the places of economic activity. During the searches accounting documents draft records and UAH 800,000 in cash were also found. The total estimated value of the seized is almost UAH 11 million.

Currently, the full circle of persons involved in the criminal scheme is being established.

The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the grounds of a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is carried out by the detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Kyiv and Kyiv region in cooperation with the police of the Kyiv region and under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Kyiv regional prosecutor's office.
