Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Kyiv region exposed the illegal import of a truck from abroad under the guise of humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The investigation established that a group of people using a charitable organization, imported a truck worth almost UAH 1 million on preferential terms under the guise of humanitarian aid. Instead of sending the truck to its intended destination the individuals used it for their own purposes in the course of their business activities.

The criminal was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Art. 28 and Part 2 Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud with financial resources). The indictment was sent to court.

Detectives of the ESBU in Kyiv region together with prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office are taking measures to transfer the imported vehicle to the needs of the defense forces.
