Analysts of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Kyiv monitored 317 tax declarations submitted by business entities that are on the tax records of the State Department of Internal Affairs and Communications in Kyiv. Only for the period of September - November 2023, the analysts of the Bureau identified 19 enterprises with potential risks of illegal reimbursement of VAT from the state budget in the amount of more than UAH 135 million. Their activities covered the export of agricultural products, construction, energy, etc.

In order to prevent the waste of budget funds the employees of the ESBU sent letters of recommendation to the DPS State Department in Kyiv regarding the identified risks and the need for control and inspection measures.

Even before the start of the inspection, 3 companies that produced metal structures and operated in the real estate sector submitted clarifying calculations and independently reduced the budget compensation in the amount of more than UAH 9 million.

As for other identified risks control and verification measures are ongoing.
