Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Kyiv region completed a pre-trial investigation against a resident of Myronivka, Kyiv region for selling counterfeit tobacco products.

The investigation established that during 2022 the woman organized the supply of illegally manufactured tobacco products. She sold the products in Kyiv region through retail kiosks.

During the investigation the detectives of the ESBU found and seized illegally manufactured tobacco products without excise stamps worth over UAH 300 thousand.

The said person was served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense stipulated by Part 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation with intent to sell excisable goods). The indictment was sent to court.

The offender faces a fine of five to ten thousand tax-free minimum incomes with confiscation and destruction of illegally manufactured goods.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department ESBU in Kyiv region under the supervision of prosecutors of the Kyiv regional Prosecutor's Office.

As a reminder, the ESBU recently seized counterfeit cigarettes and alcohol worth UAH 4 million in Kyiv region.
