The Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine has presented a new software product titled the “Electronic Evidence Management System of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine.” The system is designed to streamline the processes of storage, registration, disposal, and transfer of physical evidence obtained in the course of criminal proceedings.
This presentation was made with the participation of the Bureau's management, specialists of the Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalisation Department of the ESBU and Detective Units.
According to Maksym Kuterha, Deputy Director of the ESBU for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalisation, the system will currently operate in test mode, and later it will scale up to Territorial Offices and will be integrated into the Unified Information System of the Economic Security Bureau.
“This will provide users with immediate access to documents related to material evidence and will enable the creation of a centralised repository of information about them,” Kuterha said.
During preliminary testing of the Electronic Evidence Management System, compliance of its functional features with technical requirements will be verified. The system’s performance will be tested under conditions close to actual use, and assessments will be conducted regarding its effectiveness, alongside identification and correction of any errors or shortcomings in the software.
During the meeting, participants discussed the architecture of the Unified Information System of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine (UIS ESBU), which is intended to serve as a unified modular platform based on multi-service architecture. The system will feature standardized software and hardware components and utilize modern web-based, service-oriented, and geoinformation technologies.
The parties also discussed ensuring cybersecurity under wartime conditions and the prospects of implementing cloud technologies during system development.
