Specialists of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine recorded cases of emails being sent by unidentified persons from third-party email addresses, allegedly on behalf of the ESBU.
Letters are received by both business entities and state and local self-government bodies. They contain a request from a real employee of the Bureau regarding the provision of financial information and a warning about blocking the company's accounts.
Employees' contact details are also indicated on the pseudo-form.
At the same time the mentioned emails contain links, archived files and attachments that when launched, download malware to the user's computer to collect sensitive data.
If you receive such emails, please do not click on the links or download the files in order to protect your devices from malicious programs that may be used by russian special services to collect information.
At the same time we inform you that all employees of the ESBU use mail exclusively with the @esbu.gov.ua domain. All letters are signed using a qualified electronic signature.
Also for correspondence, the Bureau's specialists can use the system of electronic document circulation with mandatory superimposition of qualified electronic signatures of authorized persons.
We also emphasize that the Economic Security Bureau does not block financial accounts.
If you receive such letters we advise you to contact the authorities of the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine.
