The main tasks of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Poltava region are:
1) ensuring the economic security of the state by preventing, detecting, terminating, and investigating criminal offenses that infringe upon the functioning of the state economy within the territory of the Poltava region;
2) identifying economic risk areas through the analysis of structured and unstructured data;
3) assessing economic security risks and threats and determining methods for their minimization and elimination;
4) collecting and analyzing information on offenses affecting state economic security and devising prevention strategies;
5) planning measures to combat criminal offenses within the ESBU's jurisdiction in the Poltava region;
6) detecting and investigating offenses related to international technical assistance in the Poltava region;
Functions of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Poltava region:
1) ensures, within the powers defined by law, the implementation of measures to prevent corruption, violations of legality, and official discipline, and monitors their execution;
2) plans measures in the field of combating criminal offenses within the ESBU's jurisdiction as specified by law;
3) ensures the selection, training, retraining, and advanced training of the territorial office's employees;
4) organizes professional training and internships for the employees of erritorial Offices;
5) ensures, within the powers provided by law, the implementation of state policy regarding state secrets and the protection of restricted information, and monitors its preservation within the Territorial Office;
6) uses a system (network) for exchanging restricted information and databases necessary to support the daily activities of the territorial office concerning labor, financial, and management relations, and document flow;
7) organizes office management and archival storage of documents in accordance with established rules;
8) ensures the operation and functioning of the ESBU's communication system;
9) ensures, in accordance with legislation, the legal and social protection of individuals holding special ESBU ranks and other employees of the Territorial Office, cooperating on these matters with the ESBU's central office, state authorities, and local self-government bodies;
10) concludes responsible storage agreements with enterprises, institutions, and organizations for the storage of physical evidence seized during pre-trial investigation that requires special storage conditions;
11) ensures, in cases provided by law, the protection of state interests and representation of the ESBU's interests before state authorities and local self-government bodies;
12) ensures, within the powers provided by law, the mobilization training and mobilization readiness of the Territorial Office;
13) carries out supervision of occupational health and safety, as well as control and provision of fire safety within the Territorial Office and its premises;
14) organizes planning and financial work in the territorial office and exercises control over the use of financial and material resources;
15) ensures the organization and maintenance of accounting records in the manner prescribed by law, as well as the submission of required reports.
16) opens accounts in the Treasury bodies;
17) ensures the self-representation of the territorial office in courts through the head of the territorial office, as well as, without a separate power of attorney from the head of the territorial office, through their deputies and employees of the erritorial Office's structural units in accordance with the regulations on such units.
