Analysts of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau in the Kyiv region forewarned the waste of over UAH 581 million from the local budget during tender purchases for the reconstruction of educational institutions.

Based on the results of information and analytical work, employees of the Territorial Office found that officials of one of the local self-government bodies in the Kyiv region announced tenders for the reconstruction of three educational institutions. Officials were going to spend more than UAH 581 million on this.

Bureau specialists analyzed the tender documentation and found that the cost of individual construction materials specified in the estimate is significantly overstated.

Analysts sent a letter to the local self-government body with recommendations to review the decision on the purchase of services.

Thanks to the measures taken, the city council canceled the tenders. In this way, the dubious use of more than UAH 581 million from the local budget was prejudiced.

"Employees of TO of the ESBU in Kyiv region, together with specialists of Kyiv regional military administration, are constantly analyzing design and estimate and tender documentation in the field of construction, which was developed by communities, districts, and specialized departments of KOVA. Since the beginning of the year, 37 recommendations have already been sent to service customers to prevent ineffective use of funds from the local budget", - noted the head of TO of the ESBU in the Kyiv region, Maksym Kuterga.
