Serhii Yuldashev, the Head of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Volyn region took part in a seminar on intellectual property rights protection in Druskininkai (Lithuania).
The event was organized by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) together with the State Patent Bureau of the Republic of Lithuania (SPB).
The main objectives of the meeting were to deepen cooperation, exchange of experience and consolidation of efforts to protect and enforce intellectual property rights.
Sergii Yuldashev spoke about the results of the Bureau's detectives investigating crimes in the field of intellectual property. In particular the illegal use of trademarks and trade names.
According to the Head of the Department, in 2023, the Bureau sent 13 criminal proceedings to court under Art. 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Illegal use of a trademark, trade name, qualified indication of the origin of goods" and served 35 people with a notice of suspicion, including 5 criminal proceedings in which crimes were committed by organized groups of persons.
