After Ukraine acquired the status of a candidate for EU membership, the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine intensified work on establishing an operational exchange of information with competent EU bodies, conducting joint investigations and measures to prevent economic crimes, as well as studying experience in the field of economic security.

The study of the experience of European integration and the introduction of methods and processes of international partners in the work of the ESBU is the main goal of the study visit of the ESBU representatives to the Republic of Latvia, which will take place in early August. In addition, an important goal of this visit will be to develop working contacts and algorithms of interaction with the competent authorities of the EU countries, to join the ESBU in active cooperation with the network of state institutions of the EU member states, which are responsible for ensuring economic security.

During the visit, there will be working meetings of the ESBU representatives with the management and employees of the State Revenue Service of the Republic of Latvia, in particular, the Tax and Customs Police Department. It is planned to discuss the practical aspects of investigations, the use of software products, IT tools, the experience of cooperation with EU partner institutions, as well as the use of analytical tools in the analysis and investigation of violations in the economic sphere. ESBU representatives will also familiarize themselves with the work experience of Latvian colleagues based on practical cases and discuss prospects for further cooperation.

We will remind you that recently there was an educational visit of the ESBU employees to Lithuania. These visits were the result of agreements between the heads of the competent authorities of Ukraine, Lithuania, and Latvia.
