Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in the Lviv region completed a pre-trial investigation into an organized criminal group that sold illegally manufactured tobacco products.

The investigation revealed three persons who organized the operation of a shop with illegal production and subsequent storage of tobacco products in the territory of Lviv and Volyn regions.

Subsequently, counterfeit excise goods were sold on the territory of the Lviv region. ESBU detectives discovered and seized counterfeit products. The estimated total amount of confiscated cigarettes is about UAH 2 million.

As a result of the illegal use of the trademark for counterfeit tobacco products, the well-known company suffered material losses in the total amount of almost UAH 1.5 million.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Lviv region under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office and under the operational support of employees of the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv region of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine.
