Analysts of the Economic Security Bureau of of Ukraine have identified a number of companies with a potential risk of illegal VAT refunds of UAH 114 million.
The mentioned entities of economic activity use schemes of illegal receipt of VAT reimbursement at the expense of fictitious employment of persons with disabilities using VAT benefits, real origin of goods for export, fictitious display of product balances in warehouses as a result of imports or their acquisition on the territory of Ukraine.
In order to prevent the waste of public funds, analysts of the ESBU sent letters of recommendation to the State Tax Service of Ukraine regarding the identified risks and the need for control measures. Employees of the STS conducted an unscheduled documentary inspection of the activities of the companies and refused them budgetary compensation, which is why relevant acts have been drawn up. In this way, the reimbursement of unjustified VAT amounts in the amount of UAH 114 million is prejudiced.
One of the main tasks of the ESBU is precisely the prevention of risks to the economic security of Ukraine in particular, illegal reimbursement of value added tax.
Analysts of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine constantly monitor the activities of enterprises. Using a risk-oriented approach, risks and threats are identified in the budgetary, tax, customs, monetary and investment spheres, the impact of which leads to the shadowing of the economy and the weakening of the economic security of the state and they react accordingly.
