Employees of TD of the ESBU in Kyiv handed over another batch of computer equipment to the 15th Mobile Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. It includes 500 system units, monitors and monoblocks about 150 pieces of furniture, routers, switches, video cameras and DVRs.
The equipment and furniture were seized during searches in gambling halls and casinos that were operating illegally in the capital.
At the same time in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On the Transfer, Compulsory Alienation or Seizure of Property under the Legal Regime of Martial Law or a State of Emergency", the property seized by detectives was forcibly alienated and transferred by order of the commander of the SBGS mobile border detachment as approved by the state administration.
As a reminder, in July 2020, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "On State Regulation of Activities on Organization and Conduct of Gambling".
According to its provisions offline and online casinos, online poker, betting and slot machines are allowed in Ukraine. However,the current legislation provides for restrictions on the location of slot machines and casinos,as well as on the minimum age of players.
In addition,these establishments must have the appropriate permits and pay taxes.
Illegal organization and conduct of gambling or lotteries is punishable by a fine of ten thousand to fifty thousand tax-free minimum incomes with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of one to three years.
