Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Chernivtsi region sent the case materials to the court regarding a Bukovinian who illegally sold counterfeit excise goods.

From October to November 2023, the man illegally bought, stored and sold counterfeit tobacco products in the territory of the Chernivtsi region. He did not have a corresponding license for the right to trade in excise goods.

During the searches the detectives of the Territorial Department seized almost 15,000 packs of cigarettes with a total value of over 1.1 million hryvnias.

The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the grounds of a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal purchase, sale or transportation of illegally manufactured tobacco products, tobacco or other excise goods) was carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Chernivtsi region, operational support was provided by the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region and the 31st border detachment named after Corporal General Oleksandr Pilkevich of the State Border Service of Ukraine, the procedural management is the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office.
