Director of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine Vadym Melnyk and the Commander of the Territorial defense the Armed Forces of Ukraine a major-general Ihor Tantsyura signed the Memorandum on cooperation between the departments.

The main goal of the Memorandum is joint efforts to increase the state's defense capabilities a message aimed at ensuring national security.

The parties agreed on bilateral cooperation in particular holding joint exercises and trainings, mutual consultations on matters of state security, including economic.

"We should be strong on all fronts, including the front of the fight against threats to the economic security of the state," Vadim Melnyk emphasized.

Ihor Tantsyura in turn thanked for the support and trust: "A strong front is a strong rear. A major component of this Victory is the economic security of the state."

Territorial defense forces are the youngest separate branch of the armed forces. Since 2014, territorial defense battalions have been part of the Ground Forces. The formation of a new type of forces began on January 1, 2022. A brigade of Terro-defense forces was created in each oblast, and a battalion was created in each district. Also, four regional offices with support units were created.

After the start of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, people of different ages, genders, experiences and professions put aside their affairs and courageously stood up for the defense of Ukraine. During the first month of the full-scale war, more than 110,000 patriots joined the Territorial Defense the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With weapons in their hands, the soldiers of the Territorial defense Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces defended Kyiv and Kharkiv, liberated Sumy and Kherson other cities and settlements. Today units of the Territorial defense forces to liberate the captured territories.
