The Public control council of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine was established on August 18, 2021, by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 872. 

It is a permanent collegial elected body established in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine" to exercise public control over the activities of the Economic Security Bureau establish effective interaction with the public and exercise other powers defined by law.

The main tasks of the Public control council:

•  exercising public control over the activities of the Economic Security Bureau;
•  facilitating interaction of the ESBU with public associations and other civil society institutions on issues related to the activities of the Economic Security Bureau;
•  facilitating the ESBU's consideration of public opinion in the course of performing its tasks.

The Public control council was formed on the basis of an open and transparent competition and consists of 15 members for a two-year term. The composition of the Public control council was approved by the ESBU Order No. 3 dated September 14, 2021, in compliance with the principle of representation of women and men.

The Public control council holds monthly meetings which are announced in advance on the ESBU website.
