Sectoral working group to support the development of the economic security sector of Ukraine
To ensure a systematic approach to the implementation of the reform in the economic security sector of Ukraine, to implement the provisions of the National Security Strategy of Ukraine, approved by the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated 14.09.2020 No. 392/2020, to support the institutional development of the Security Service, the implementation of international experience, as well as the involvement of international technical assistance, the ESBU initiated the creation of a permanent consultative and advisory body "Sectoral working group for supporting the development of the economic security sector of Ukraine".
This group aims to organize constant interaction between representatives of international organizations, foreign diplomatic missions in Ukraine, central executive authorities, security and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, as well as the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The group's activities will be the key to the creation of an effective mechanism for combating economic and transnational crimes and offenses.
The ESBU appealed to the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to approve the creation of this Sectoral Working Group and received appropriate support.
At the initiative of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine, on June 2, 2022,a constituent meeting of the Sectoral Working Group was held, at which the basic needs of the ESBU were determined to strengthen the economic security of the state and the implementation of innovative approaches to counteracting the negative impact on the economy of Ukraine.
On July 21, 2022, the second meeting of the Sectoral Working Group took place, at which the co-chairs and composition of the Secretariat of the SWG were agreed upon. In addition, the participants were presented with a draft of the ESBU Institutional Development Strategy for 2022-2027.
On September 16, 2022, a meeting of representatives of the SWG Secretariat was held to discuss technical and organizational issues of preparation for the next meeting of the SWG.
